Interested in reading and discussing popular books?  Join our first joint book club gathering with CFA Society Japan featuring the book “China and Japan: Facing History” authored by an eminent scholar of East Asia at Harvard University, Ezra F. Vogel.

Vogel uses the powerful lens of the past to frame contemporary Chinese-Japanese relations.  China and Japan have cultural and political connections that stretch back fifteen hundred years. He takes the readers back to examine the contentious dynamics that shaped how these two Asian giants view each other.

Boldly tackling the most contentious chapters in this long and tangled relationship, Vogel uses the tools of a master historian to examine key turning points in Sino-Japanese history, pivoting from past to present.
