Kevin Chan is an investment professional with more than 20 years of experience. He has worked for various financial institutions in Canada and Hong Kong in investment management and corporate finance. Kevin now works for a family office in Hong Kong responsible for making private equity investments. He has been a director of the University of Toronto (Hong Kong) Foundation since its inception. He has been a director of the CFA Society Hong Kong (formerly Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts) since its inception, and was the President between 2000 and 2002. Kevin also served on the Advisory Committee on Human Resources Development in the Financial Services Sector in Hong Kong, formed by the Hong Kong SAR Government, from 2000 to 2002, and the Global Council of the CFA Institute from 1999 to 2004.
Dr. Terence Chan has almost 30 years of real estate investment and finance, and listed company merger and acquisition experience in regional capital markets. He currently runs a family office – Asia Impact Investment Corporation (“AIIC”) which high-net-worth individuals sponsor to invest in sustainable real estate projects in China and North America. He is also an adjunct associate professor in cross-border securitization, technology application, and sustainable development and ESG investment at the Department of Real Estate and Construction at the University of Hong Kong. Terence has been serving as the Founding Vice President of The Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association (“HKINEDA”) since 2016. He was appointed as a member of the REIT Committee of Securities and Financial Commission (SFC) in 2017, and a Hong Kong Baptist University Council and Foundation member in 2016. Recently, he was appointed as a member of the Mainland Opportunity Committee of the Financial Services Development Council (“FSDC”). In January 2018, Terence was also appointed as a Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee member.
Terence is a CFA Charterholder, a FCPA (Aust). He is a Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors Fellow (“FRICS”). He also has a Certificate in Finance and Technology (“CFT”). In addition, Terrence holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Xiamen University, a Master in Real Estate and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Jimmy Jim joined ICBC (Asia) in 2014 and is currently the Head of the Global Markets Department, leading a team of more than 100 professionals. Jimmy has almost 30 years of experience in the banking and financial industry and has held senior positions with many leading international banks. He has worked across Hong Kong, Tokyo and Australia with extensive experience in trading and the sale of precious metals, financial and debt capital market products, asset/liability managment and portfolio management. He was the President of CFA Society Hong Kong between 2010 and 2013.
Jimmy is a CFA Charterholder and a CPA (Aust). He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
George Long is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of LIM Advisors Limited. Before he established LIM in 1995, George set up and ran the Asian division of Barclays Global Investors (BGI). While at Barclays, George served on the Executive Committee for Barclays Group Asia and the Global Investment Committee in London. George has previously held positions as the Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Gartmore Asia, and the head of Korean operations for Indosuez W.I. Carr Securities. He has also worked in New York and Asia for Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company (now part of JP Morgan) as an international banking officer.
George is a former governor of CFA Institute and established what would become CFA Society Hong Kong in 1992, serving as its president for eight years. George also set up the Hong Kong/China Chapter of the Alternative Investment Management Association in 2002 and was its chairman for five years. He received the Thomas L. Hansberger Leadership in Global Investing Award for his contributions to global investment management. George holds an Master of Business Administration in Finance and an Master of Arts in Asian Studies from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Karl Lung has 30 years of experience in the investment industry. He worked as a Portfolio Manager with ABN AMRO Asset Management (Asia) Limited for nine years with responsibility for Hong Kong equity investments. Before joining ABN AMRO, Karl worked as an investment analyst for seven years with brokerage houses such as W.I. Carr (Far East) Limited, Schroders Securities (Hong Kong) Limited, and Nomura Research International Company Limited. He was also an Investment Analyst with Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited. Karl currently works as an independent consultant on investment-related issues.
Karl had been a member of the Advisory Committee on Human Resources Development in the Financial Services Sector of the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and a member of the Public Shareholders Group, Takeovers and Mergers Panel and Takeovers Appeal Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission (“SFC”). Karl holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hon.) from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He became a CFA Charterholder in 1992.
James Soutar is the Director at PhoenixInvest Group (HK) Ltd. He was previously Executive Director of FrontPoint Management (HK) Limited and the portfolio manager of the FrontPoint Asia Pacific Fund. James was also a co-founder of Phoenix Research Limited and a Managing Director of Lombard Odier (Asia) Limited. He has served as a member of the Hong Kong Exchanges’ Listing Committee since May 2007.
James was the Chairman of the Advocacy Committee of CFA Society Hong Kong and served on its board from January 1998 to January 2009. He graduated from Tufts University, Boston and is a CFA Charterholder.
Frederick Tsang is the Chief Risk Officer of China Everbright Limited, a China-backed financial institution listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with businesses involving proprietary investment, asset management, and other financial service activities. Before joining China Everbright in 2000, Frederick was Head of Equity Research at the Hong Kong branch of a number of international and regional brokerage firms, including Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Nomura and Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP).
Frederick has more than 30 years of experience in the Hong Kong financial industry. In November 2016, he was appointed as a member of the Process Review Panel for the Securities and Futures Commission. He served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission between 2011 and 2017. From 2009 to 2015, Frederick also served as a member of the Securities and Futures Appeals Tribunal. He was a board member of CFA Society Hong Kong between 2001 and 2017, and its President between 2013 and 2015. Frederick is a CFA Charterholder. He has a Bachelor of Economics with Finance and Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master’s degree from the University of Alberta.
