As artificial intelligence transitions from software experimentation to institutional deployment, capital allocation strategies are undergoing a fundamental shift. CFA Society Hong Kong invites members to join an in-depth session, hosted at Oracle's Hong Kong office at Lee Garden Three, with Esther Wong, Founder & CEO of 3C AGI Partners, for a grounded evaluation of the AI landscape through a venture capital and institutional lens. Moving past consumer-facing hype, this session will focus on the hard-tech foundational layer, technical due diligence frameworks, and actionable investment opportunities across AI infrastructure.
Key Discussion Points:
- AI Hype vs. Fundamental Value: Distinguishing speculative market hype from long-term, commercialized value creation across the current AI landscape.
- Why Infrastructure? Understanding why physical compute capacity, inference platforms, and foundational technologies represent the most defensible value-capture layers in the AI ecosystem.
- Challenges in AI Investing: Navigating the primary friction points of deep-tech investing, including rigorous technical due diligence, rapid technological obsolescence, high capital intensity, and execution risks.
- Emerging Investment Opportunities: Identifying high-conviction areas across next-generation hardware, alternative energy solutions, and novel data center architectures powering the future of AI.
