To recognize this accomplishment, we cordially invite you and your loved ones to join us at Awards Night 2026, an unforgettable evening dedicated to celebrating the success of our newest CFA Charterholders.

We are excited to have Dr. David Tak Kei Sun, GBS, JP, Chairman and Non-Executive Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC), as our keynote speaker.

This evening will feature a significant highlight: the Charter Award Presentation Ceremony. Ms. Brenda Hou, CFA, Senior Head, Asia Pacific, Global Partnerships & Client Solutions and Country Head of China, CFA Institute, will be present to extend their congratulations in honor of this important achievement. All eligible new CFA Charterholders will receive an additional presentation-sized (8.5” x 11”) charter during the ceremony – a meaningful keepsake from the Society to recognize your dedication and achievement!

Please note that the registration of presentation-sized charter is due by 8 November 2026 (Sun). If your registration is received after this deadline, we will unfortunately be unable to arrange for the additional charter to be presented at the event.

Keynote Speaker

Dr. David Tak Kei Sun, GBS, JP
Chairman and Non-Executive Director
Accounting and Financial Reporting Council (AFRC)

Dr. David Sun is the Chairman of the Accounting and Financial Reporting Council. He held the position of Director of Audit at the Audit Commission of the Hong Kong SAR Government from 2012 to 2018. Before joining the Hong Kong Government, Dr. Sun served as the Chairman and Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Greater China and the Far East and was a member of the Ernst & Young Global Executive Board from 2006 until his retirement in 2010. In 2003, he was the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sun has held numerous significant roles, including Chairman of the Council at City University of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee, and a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director for the Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Treasurer for both the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Hong Kong Metropolitan University, and a member of the Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Additionally, he has contributed to the Process Review Panel for the Securities and Futures Commission and has been a member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority.

Dr. Sun obtained a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Business Administration from Kansas State University in United States of America, a Master’s degree in Accounting Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the Hong Kong Metropolitan University. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Important note:

1. Awards Night is a member-exclusive event for active CFA Society Hong Kong members only.
2. The presentation-sized charter will be exclusively awarded to CFA Charterholders who have earned their charter during the period from 9 November 2025 to 8 November 2026. It is an extra replica, printed on 8.5” x 11” museum quality paper, issued by CFA Institute from U.S.
3. For Charterholder membership applications, CFA Institute may take 5 to 10 business days for the review process.
4. In order to receive the presentation-sized charter during the event, your active Charterholder membership and online event registration must be completed by 8 November 2026. Otherwise, no presentation-sized charter could be arranged at the event.

Event policy for Substitutions, Cancellations and No Show applies

1. All event registration and online payment should be completed by 8 November 2026. Please note that no presentation-sized charter could be arranged after 8 November 2026.
2. An email event confirmation will be sent upon completion of the online registration.  If you have not received an email confirmation prior to the event commencement, it is the delegates’ responsibility to contact the Society staff at member@cfahk.org to confirm the registration.
3. During online registration, please indicate the person you’d like to sit with, as seating arrangements are organized by the Society.
4. If a registrant requests to cancel the registrations, the request must be made in writing on or before 8 November 2026. Cancellation requests made after 8 November 2026 and refund requests for no show on the event date will not be entertained. The Society will confirm acceptance of the cancellation request by email afterwards.  An administration fee HK$200 will be charged for the cancellation of a confirmed enrolment. The net of an administration fee of HK$200/person refund will be made within 4-6 weeks after 27 November 2026 via the original payment route.
5. Substitutions are allowed.  Please notify the Society staff in writing by email at member@cfahk.org on or before 8 November 2026 for the changes.  The rate differential for CFA Society Hong Kong members and Guests / Non-members will be charged if the substitute is a non-member. The Society will only confirm the change upon receiving payment of the rate differential on or before 8 November 2026.
6. If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above / Black Rainstorm warning is hoisted on the event day, the event will be cancelled. If the event of cancellation due to bad weather, the event will be rescheduled and event fees will be refunded.  Please click here for adverse weather policy.
7. In complying with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, the information provided here will be accessed only by the Society for the purpose of this Awards Night. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details.
8. By registering for this event, you confirm that you and your guest(s) consent to appearing in any official event photographs and video footage.  The photographs and video footage can be used by the Society for marketing and publicity in our publications, on our website and in social media, or in a third-party publication.  In addition, photographs or video footage may be taken by other event attendees and publicly shared, for which the Society cannot be held responsible.
9. No complimentary parking will be arranged at the dinner venue by the Society.
10. The Society reserves the right to change the venue, date or speaker of the event due to any unforeseen circumstances without prior notice.
11. In case of any dispute, the decision of CFA Society Hong Kong is final, and no further appeal will be entertained.
