NEW Student Engagement Program (SEP)
Startin in September 2026, CFA Society Hong Kong is introducing the new initiative "Student Engagement Program" (SEP), a community for university students, graduates and industry practitioners to connect and exchange ideas, gain career insights and build professional network.
Participants of the SEP will be invited to an exclusive LinkedIn Group to initiate conversations, exchange ideas, and make meaningful connections.
In addition, the Society will provide multiple workshops and events, such as a Mock Interview Workshop and a Speed-Mentoring Gathering, exclusively for SEP participants throughout the year.

Who can Join the SEP?
SEP Students: Current and past participants of the CFA Institute Research Challenge and Student Associate members of CFA Society Hong Kong
SEP Alumni: Graduated Research Challenge participants and industry professionals who have supported the Research Challenge
Involvement in the SEP offers a valuable opportunity to network with industry professionals and recent finance graduates, which are connections that can significantly boost students' career progression.
There are no minimum commitment requirements, as we want SEP to be an ongoing community of student-practitioner networking, with new members joining every year. However, we encourage both SEP Students and SEP Alumni to actively engage with other participants in the LinkedIn Group to keep the community active.
How to Join the SEP?
If you are interested in becoming a SEP Student or SEP Alumnus, simply request to join the LinkedIn Group using your LinkedIn account.
The Society will review your identity and eligibility before approving your request.
NEW Youth Ambassador (of Student Engagement Program)
In addition to attending the SEP as general participants, university students who want to take a more active role can also apply to become Youth Ambassadors.
Selection Criteria:
- Current undergraduate or Master's degree students at universities in Hong Kong or Macau;
- Passed or registered for the CFA Level I exam;
- With nomination or recommendation by university faculty members or members of CFA Society Hong Kong; and
- Track record of active participation in extra-curricular activities (e.g. committee member of a university’s student society/club)
Duties of Youth Ambassadors:
- Promote the CFA Program and other Society activities among peers and within university and social circles.
- Maintain regular communication with the Society’s volunteers and mentors.
- Host, assist with, and attend the Society’s outreach seminars and events.
- Serve as the Society’s liaison with different universities in Hong Kong and Macau.
- Service period: 1 January 2027 - 31 December 2027.

Selection Process:
- All applications will be reviewed by a dedicated SEP Task Force, consisting of volunteers of CFA Society Hong Kong and industry professionals.
- Shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly regarding interview arrangements and next steps.
- For shortlisted candidates, the Society reserves the right to contact the nominated referees to verify the information provided in the recommendation.
- The results will be announced in late November or December 2026.
