Independent Qualified Valuer List (Pilot Patent Valuation Support Scheme)

Under the Pilot Patent Valuation Support Scheme (the “Scheme”) of the Government of HKSAR, CFA Society Hong Kong (the “Society”) is named in the Guidelines for Quantitative IP Valuation Reports (the “Guidelines”) as one of the professional bodies responsible for maintaining a list of designated valuation service providers.

To be eligible for inclusion to the list, an individual must:

  1. be an active CFA charterholder, and holds active memberships at the Society and CFA Institute;
  2. have at least three (3) years of experience valuing intangible assets as defined in IVS 210;
  3. be in good standing with the Society and CFA Institute, with no history of professional misconduct; and
  4. carry on business in Hong Kong by providing valuation services for properties (including but not limited to intellectual property (“IP”) assets), or provide valuation services through a firm or company that does so.

Applications will be assessed by a Vetting and Designation Committee, comprising of Board of Directors of the Society and independent practising valuers specializing in intangible assets, and you will be notified of the outcome in writing.
