With the Hong Kong government’s commitment to promote the city as a booming Web 3.0 hub, it is vital for CFA charterholders to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving developments in this space. To help members navigate the new Web3 regulatory landscape, CFA Society Hong Kong is proud to host this timely event “Navigating the Web3 Regulatory Landscape: Insights from the SFC” featuring Ms. Elizabeth Wong, Director of Licensing and Head of Fintech unit of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong.

This session will provide the latest update on the SFC’s approach to regulating virtual asset activities. As the Web3 space grows exponentially, attendees will gain critical perspective on the SFC’s regulatory framework, including:

– Key licensing requirements for centralized virtual asset trading platform operators
– Opportunities and obligations under the new regime
– Evaluating risks and suitability of virtual assets for retail investors

The regulatory framework for virtual asset trading platforms has been one of the focus areas of discussion in the Web 3.0 space – register now to stay abreast of the latest developments with opportunities for Q&A and networking with like-minded Society members. We expect a popular response for this event – space is limited and first come first served.

(Sandwiches and drinks will be served at the event.)

Rating Intermediate – Material presented will have technical elements requiring a working knowledge of the subject to make full use of the presentation.
