A recent circular issued by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has created a pathway to listing closed-ended alternative asset funds in Hong Kong, generating interest among both local private market participants and managers with funds listed abroad. As private capital shifts towards evergreen structures and accessing pockets of demand beyond the typical institutional limited partners, this listing pathway is a significant development for the industry.

 This event explores:

  • the legal regime for listed alternative asset funds in Hong Kong
  • key characteristics of listed alternative assets – uses cases and historical market usage in the London market
  • market outlook and potential for this product in the Hong Kong market
