About the Speaker

Ms. Sonal Nayyar

Oliver James 

Sonal is an Electronics & Communication Engineer from Manipal Institute of Technology in India. As an electronic engineer she pursued research opportunities at EADS (European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company) in Germany, where she was involved in Euro-copter project. From there on she went to pursue International Business Management at Manchester Business School.

After graduation, she decided to combine her passion for technology and business. She wanted to use her insights from technology and at the same time interact with people. So she joined recruitment in Tokyo. She joined Michael Page International with whom she worked for over ten years. She has successfully recruited in Tokyo, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong. This has given her immense global exposure and understanding of diverse recruitment cultures. Over the years she has been recruiting for technology, banking and Operations.

A mother of two kids, she has also completed Executive Education courses from Harvard Business School in Negotiation Mastery and Entrepreneurship. Currently she is heading recruitment for finance and technology at Oliver James in Hong Kong. Over the years, she has participated in various university forums helping out prospective candidates with their resume’s and giving guidance on job market.
