Congratulations on successfully completing the Level III CFA exam! To make the most out of your hard work, it is highly recommended that you officially obtain the CFA® charter, which demonstrates your competence and opens doors to countless career opportunities.
You might still be in the process of accumulating the required 4,000 hours (in a minimum of 36 months) of relevant experience to obtain the CFA charter. To assist you in taking your next step towards applying for membership and enjoying the associated member benefits, CFA Society Hong Kong (the “Society”) has invited Ms. Janice Hon, Associate Manager, Member Value (Global Membership), CFA Institute, to guide you through the membership application requirements, including qualifying work experience, professional references, well-written job descriptions, self-assessment tool and tips.
During the session, Dr. K.P. Wat, CFA, Candidate Services Committee member, CFA Society Hong Kong , will also provide insights into the Society’s background and member values.

About the Speaker:
Ms. Janice Hon
Associate Manager, Member Value, Global Membership at CFA Institute
Janice is based in Hong Kong and is part of the global membership team at CFA Institute. She plays a key role in developing and executing member value and engagement initiatives while advocating for CFA Institute membership across the Asia Pacific region. Her work ensures effective communication of member needs to the global team, strengthening connections between members and the organization.
Prior to her current role, Janice served as a Society Membership Services Manager at CFA Institute, leading the full spectrum of membership management in the region. She provided strategic guidance to societies on recruitment, retention, and member engagement while delivering membership value. She also contributed to the Strategic Partnership & Business Development team, supporting AP North & Oceania markets in building strong partnerships with universities, firms, and professional associations.
Before joining CFA Institute, Janice held key roles in membership and business development, including serving as Membership Manager at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Business Development Manager at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Throughout her career in both B2B and B2C environments, Janice has managed membership relations and recruitment, provided consultation to prospects and candidates, and led initiatives in sales and marketing. Her expertise extends to relationship building, event planning, communications, and customer service.
Janice holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. She has completed the Business Analytics: Decision Making Using Data program at Cambridge Judge Business School and, as of July 3, 2024, will have completed the Climate Finance course, jointly developed by CFA Institute and ACCA.
