HKEX has introduced its latest climate disclosure requirements, which will take effect on 1 January 2025. In this joint webinar with Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, it will facilitate market understanding of the new requirements and help in preparation for reporting.

An overview of HKEX’s latest climate disclosure requirements, including:

  • Areas that issuers should focus on
  • Tips for issuers
  • Resources available to assist reporting
  • How the new requirements fit into Hong Kong’s plan to adopt ISSB standards

About the Speakers

Ms. Katherine Ng
Head of Listing
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”)

Ms Katherine Ng is the Head of Listing at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEX”).  She joined HKEX in 2013 as the Head of Policy of the Listing Division.  Prior to joining HKEX, Ms Ng served as Political Assistant to the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Government, worked in an international investment bank and an international law firm in Hong Kong and London. 

Ms Ng holds a Master of Arts in Law from Trinity College, University of Cambridge and is a qualified lawyer in both Hong Kong and England & Wales.  Ms Ng is currently an Advisor to Our Hong Kong Foundation, a Director of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong, a fellow of the Aspen Institute, a Member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance and a senior fellow of Hong Kong Securities and Investment (“HKSI”) Institute.  She was the Board Director of HKSI Institute from December 2014 to December 2022 and the Board Chairperson between December 2018 and December 2021.

Mr. Tim Chan, CFA

Tim Chan is an executive director and the Head of Sustainability Research (Asia Pacific ex Japan) at a bulge bracket investment bank. He heads the ESG pillar under the Continuing Education Committee of CFA Society Hong Kong.

Previously, Tim was a senior ESG analyst at Manulife Investment Management where he led the ESG integration, research and engagement efforts in North Asia. Before that, he worked as an advisory manager at Ernst & Young within their climate change and sustainability services team.

Tim holds a bachelor of science in molecular biotechnology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a master of science in environmental management from the University of Hong Kong. He is also a CFA charterholder, a chartered environmentalist and an EFFAS certified ESG analyst. Tim currently sits in the Advisory Board for Division of Environment and Sustainability, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).

  • A webinar reminder will be sent out 1 day before the event. If you have not received the email confirmation and reminder, it is the delegate’s responsibility to contact CFA Society Hong Kong to confirm their place.

  • For any cancellation of confirmed enrolment on or before 12 Aug 2024 (Monday), 50% of the activity fee will be forfeited. All cancellation requests must be made in writing and be confirmed by email from CFA Society Hong Kong. Full amount will still be charged for no-show or enrolment made after 12 Aug 2024 (Monday).
  • For payment made by credit card, a refund will be handled through the bank, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. The amount will be refunded to the paid credit card account.
  • Substitutions are allowed. Please notify us prior to the event. Non-member rate applies if the substitute is not a CFA Society Hong Kong member.
