There are different yearly Annual Dues for each class of membership.  
Associate Member: Annual Dues (HKD930) will be billed by CFA Society Hong Kong. Prorated dues apply for NEW members, please see here.
Regular Member and Affiliate Member: Annual Dues (USD120), please pay through your own account page on the website of CFA Institute. Prorated dues apply for NEW members, please see here. For further details, please visit here.

Please complete an Application Form, a Sponsor Form and an Ethics Declaration Form and return them to CFA Society Hong Kong at 14/F, BOC Group Life Assurance Tower, 136 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong. You may send us a crossed cheque made payable to “CFA Society Hong Kong” for Annual Dues when you send in your application, or wait until your application has been approved. For the payment of membership fees, you may request CFA Society Hong Kong (the “Society”) to send you a payment link for credit card payments, or pay by cheque at the Society Office.

If you would like to apply for membership of both CFA Institute and CFA Society Hong Kong as a Regular Member or Affiliate Member, please submit your application through the website of CFA Institute at www.cfainstitute.org.  Please make sure you have indicated that you would like to add the Hong Kong Society membership. You are required to submit either (1) three professional references, or (2) one reference from a regular member of CFA Society Hong Kong and one professional reference. Supervisor references are preferred. Your references will receive instructions for completing the process. At the same time, please update your profile here for membership record.   Please note that a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member of the Society must also be a member of CFA Institute.

If you are a member of CFA Institute and would like to apply for the membership of CFA Society Hong Kong, please indicate that you would like to add membership to the Hong Kong Society through your own account page of the website of CFA Institute at www.cfainstitute.org. Yes. If you are a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member of CFA Institute, you may apply for membership of more than one CFA Institute member society. Please submit your request through your own account page on the website of CFA Institute at www.cfainstitute.org. At the same time, please update your profile here for membership record. 

If you are a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member of another CFA Institute member society, you may add an additional society membership or transfer your membership to CFA Society Hong Kong. Please note that membership fees paid are non-transferrable.
To add a Society membership, please go to your own account page of the website of CFA Institute at www.cfainstitute.org.  To cancel the membership of the another CFA Institute member society, please send an email to CFA Institute at cmservices@cfainstitute.org for processing. 
Please note that you cannot transfer from a Regular / Affiliate Member to become an Associate Member of the Society or vice versa. If you would like to become a different class of member, please submit your application to us as described in Questions 5 and 6 above.

If you are a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member and have only withdrawn your membership of CFA Society Hong Kong but you are still a member of CFA Institute, you can reinstate / re-activate your Society membership through your own account page of the website of CFA Institute at www.cfainstitute.org. CFA Institute will collect the Annual Dues on our behalf and you are required to pay the full year Annual Dues of the Society regardless of the date on which you reinstate / re-activate your membership. 
If you are an Associate Member and would like to reinstate your membership, please complete a Reinstatement Form and return it to the Society together with the Annual Dues.

If you have withdrawn your Regular or Affiliate membership of both CFA Institute and CFA Society Hong Kong, you can reinstate your memberships by making the request through your own account page of the website of CFA Institute. You should indicate that you would like to reinstate membership of both CFA Institute and the Hong Kong Society. You are required to pay for both the full year Annual Dues of CFA Institute and the Society regardless of the date on which you reinstate / re-activate your membership. 

An Associate Member applicant has to be recommended by a Regular Member of CFA Society Hong Kong or his / her current employer. The sponsor has to complete a Sponsor Form and the applicant has to be submit it together with his / her Application Form and Ethics Declaration Form.

To apply to be a Regular / Affiliate Member, please refer to the information provided in Question 6. If an existing Associate Member becomes a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member by paying the Annual Dues for the same fiscal year through the website of CFA Institute, this member can request CFA Society Hong Kong refunds the HKD930 that he / she has paid for the Associate membership. If this member does not have to pay any Annual Dues to become a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member, no refund will be given. If a Regular Member or an Affiliate Member wants to become an Associate Member, please refer to the information provided in Question 5. There will not be any refund.

We maintaining a different membership system from CFA Institute. Please inform both of us to update your records in both organisations. To update your personal particulars with CFA Institute, please send them an email at cmservices@cfainstitute.org or do it through your personal account on their website at www.cfainstitute.org. To update the records of CFA Society Hong Kong, please send an email to member@cfahk.org or do it through our website here.

The CFA Society Hong Kong and CFA Institute membership renewal is done through the website of CFA Institute, please retrieve / reset your login here, or contact info@cfainstitute.org directly if you encounter any problems.

You may not have renewed your membership by the time our emails were sent to all members. The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June. The billing for the upcoming membership year only started in May. If you have already renewed both your CFA Society Hong Kong AND CFA Institute membership for the upcoming fiscal year, please ignore the message and enjoy the member benefits. If not, please renew your membership through your own account page on the website of CFA Institute at https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/membership/renew.

The annual dues for the FY22-23 membership year (1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023) are USD275 for CFA Institute and USD120 for CFA Society Hong Kong.

The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June.  After you have renewed your FY22-23 membership, it will be valid until 30 Jun 2023.
