Our FinTech and New Economy Committee is pleased to have invited Mr. Dominique Dare, CFA, CIPM, Head of Finance of right. based on science to share “Taking Your Portfolio’s Temperature – Measuring Climate Impact & Paris Alignment” with us.

The Paris Agreement, signed in 2015, seeks to limit climate change to well below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels. Finance and investment must play a large role, if we are to have any hope of reaching this target. By acting on this soon, investment managers can reduce climate-related physical and transitional risks, get ahead of stricter regulation, and identify opportunities as global economies adapt to a new reality.

The X-Degree Compatibility (XDC) Model, created by right. based on science, provides asset managers with information on how their portfolios can contribute to a ‘well below 2°C’ world – clear, transparent, and tangible: in °C. The discussion will focus on these points:

  • What is Temperature Alignment and why is it important?
  • How can Temperature Alignment be measured and presented in a meaningful way?
  • What are the results for the Hang Seng Index (HSI)?
  • A discussion of a potential link between strong climate performance and financial return.

Dominique Dare, CFA, Head of Finance at right. based on science, will discuss these topics and show how the XDC Model can help us achieve the target set out in the Paris Agreement.
